Moonstone for moon or jupiter ?

According to Gem therapist Roland Hunt the moonstone has same/similar characteristics as topaz (the gem worn to strengthen natal jupiter). The author also mentions moonstone as a substitute for topaz.

Ayurvedic texts too speak of moonstone ash having similar therapeutic properties as topaz ash.

On the other hand, contemporary vedic astrologers suggest moonstone as cheaper substitute for pearl.

Is the moonstone worn to strengthen the moon or the jupiter?
